Asifa Bhutto Zardari to step in politics, contest Sindh assembly seat

KARACHI (92 News) - Asifa Bhutto Zardari, the youngest daughter of slain PPP chairman Benazir Bhutto and current PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, has decided to contest election from Sindh Assembly seat from Larkana. Stepping into Pakistani politics first time after her three family members, Asifa will contest by-election from PS 11 Larkana after the seat was de-notified by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) following the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC). The SC had ordered re-polling in the Sindh constituency after Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA)'s MPA Moazzam Khan Abbasi was disqualified on a petition. Asifa Bhutto Zardai will follow the political footsteps of her mother late Benazir Bhutto, ex-prime minister Pakistan, father Asif Ali Zardari, ex-Senator and former president of Pakistan and now MNA, and elder brother Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is PPP chairman and sitting MNA. Meanwhile, Asifa Bhutto Zardari met provincial minister, party legislators and leaders to discuss performance of PPP in Sindh government. She also listened to the problems the party MPAs and ministers.
