Asma Jahangir Group's Ahsan Bhoon elected as SCBA president

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Ahsan Bhoon of the Asma Jahangir Group was elected as president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday.

He bagged 1,390 votes, while his rival Latif Khosa of the Hamid Khan Group got 813 votes.

The victorious group celebrated the victory of their candidate in several cities.

Talking to the media, the SCBA newly-elected president Ahsan Bhoon said that he will end the division in the judiciary. "I will work for the supremacy of the constitution and strengthening the democratic institutions," he maintained.

Bhoon said that the bar and bench will have to go along with each other. "The parliament has weakened. The elected representatives should not fill up their kitty. They should work for the people and betterment of the institution," he added.
