MULTAN (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Multan has summoned Shaukat Basra – former PPP leader who joined PTI – in assets beyond known sources of income on March 6. The NAB has served notice to Shaukat Basra and directed him to appear before NAB Multan office for probe against him over accumulating assets beyond known sources of income. Basra has been directed to show up before NAB Multan office on March 6. In the month of December 2018, former senior member of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Shukat Basra on Thursday joined the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan. Shaukat Basra called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and announced to join the PTI. PTI stalwart leader Jahangir Khan Tareen had invited former member of the Punjab Assembly Shaukat Basra to join the ruling party. Jahangir Tareen was also present on this occasion.   In July this year, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) had removed four south Punjab office-bearers including information secretary Shaukat Mahmood Basra for violating the party discipline. The action had been taken against the office-bearers as all of them contested general election as independent candidates. Earlier in August, three leaders of the PPP joined the PTI in Karachi. PTI Karachi President Firdous Shamim Naqvi had announced that three important personalities from Malir had joined the PTI including Haji Muzaffar Shajra, Abdul Qadir Baloch and former deputy speaker Sindh Assembly Abdul Bari Jilani.
