Assets beyond income: Shehbaz disassociates himself with family members
LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in assets beyond income case and disassociated himself with his other family members.
According to the privy sources, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president, while appeared before the NAB, said that they should ask about the assets of his other family members by themselves. He added that he cannot answer any of the question regarding them.
The sources also informed that the anti-graft watchdog interrogated Shehbaz Sharif about his assets beyond income, money laundering and heritage assets.
Policeman injured by Shehbaz Sharif’s vehicle
On the other hand, a policeman was injured after Shehbaz Sharif’s vehicle trampled him outside an accountability court in Lahore.
Muhammad Zahid was standing at an intersection when the vehicle ran over his foot while taking a U-turn. The people inside the vehicle got out and helped him get back on his feet.
It is pertinent to mention here, earlier On June 20, a PML-N supporter was also injured after being hit by party president Shehbaz’s car outside the prison.
Earlier today, an accountability court sent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
Hamza, who is opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, had appeared before the AC along with his father Shehbaz Sharif in the Ramzan sugar mills case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested for an extension in Hamza’s remand, however, the court rejected its plea, sending the PML-N leader to jail.
The court ordered Hamza and Shehbaz to be presented before the court on July 20.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza had appeared before the accountability court. Hamza was produced before the court after nine-day physical remand by the NAB officials who sought further remand. The judge, Naeem Arshad Malik, reserved the decision in the case. Strict security measures were put in place around the court premises.
