CHILAS (92 News) – Unidentified extremists against education attacked 12 girl's schools located in different areas of Chilas, district Diamer on Thursday late night. According to the police, some unidentified men attacked 12 girls' schools across and damaged school property. The attackers vandalized and demolished the items in the schools. After damaging the school's property, they set them fire on fire. It was reported that the extremists attacked on late night and escaped to the scene after damaging the schools. Meanwhile, two schools in Ronai and Takia were targeted with explosive material. The miscreants also set ablaze schools located in Hoder, Thor, Gayal village, Tabour, Khanbari, Jaglot, Gali Bala and Gali Paeen. Police and district administration reached at the scene following reports of the local people. The police cordoned off the area and conducted search operation to find the accused. According to the district administration, the schools that were attacked were under-construction. Officials added that they will ensure adequate measures are taken to safeguard schools and students.
