At least nine injured in explosion during football match in Hub area

HUB (92 News) - At least nine people were injured after an explosion took place in the ground during a local football match in the Hub area.

According to the reports, the final of a football tournament was taking place at a ground in Hub's Allahabad neighbourhood when the explosion occurred. The preliminary reports stated that the hand grenade attack took place when a football match between two local teams was underway at a football ground.

The reports said that the grenade attack took place at the spectators’ seat, injuring at least nine people, including team players. The injured were shifted to Hub Civil Hospital.

After the incident, a heavy contingent of security forces reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area while further investigation is underway.
