At least seven death row prisoners hanged in different jails in Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – As many as seven death row prisoners including father and son have been hanged till death across Punjab early on Wednesday. Death row prisoners Usman and his son Aftab was hanged in Attock Central Jail. Both were convicted of murdering father and son over property dispute in 1998. Another prisoner Safdar was hanged in Attock Central Jail for killing one man in 2003. Jhang District Jail death row prisoner Ahmad Din, Multan Central Jail prisoner Nayyer Abbas and Sargodha District Jail prisoner Nawaz were hanged. A death row prisoner Tufail was hanged in Kasur District Jail for killing father and son. The prisoners met their heir’s night before they were hanged, while the bodies were handed over to the heirs. At least 11 people have been hanged in the last three days in different jails across Punjab.
