At least two death-row prisoners hanged in different jails, another escapes the noose

KARACHI (92 News) – At least two death-row prisoners convicted for murder were executed in different jails and another escaped the noose in the wee hours of Wednesday. As per details, a death-row prisoner Shahid Mahmood was hanged to death in Central Jail Karachi. Shahid Mahmood was convicted of murdering a woman and her daughter for resistance in robbery in 1998 and he was sentenced to death on December 23, 1998. The Sindh High Court and Supreme Court have rejected the plea Shahid Mahmood’s plea. On the other hand, a death-row prisoner Tajamul was hanged to death in New Central Jail Bahawalpur. Tajamul was convicted of murdering his three sisters in 2004. Meanwhile, a death-row prisoner Murad Khan escaped the noose. The death-row prisoners met their heirs for the last time. The bodies were handed over to the families.
