ATC adjourns hearing of MQM leader Amir Khan’s case till August 25

KARACHI (92 News) – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has adjourned the hearing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Amir Khan’s case till August 25, on Saturday. The accused appeared in person before the court but Sindh Home Department and Federal Investigation Agency officials could not appear before the court. The accused Amir Khan requested the judge to grant him exemption from appearing before the court as he wanted to perform Hajj. The court directed him to submit a written application and adjourned the hearing till August 25. Talking to media after hearing, Amir Khan said that it was wrong to target specific parties in the Karachi operation, adding that a sense of insecurity has been prevailing among the Muhajir community as a result of the operation. He said that criminal elements in the party should be mentioned, adding that menace of terrorism should be eliminated from the country.
