ATC to announce verdict on Zainab murder case today

LAHORE (92 News) – The anti-terrorism court will announce the verdict on the Zainab murder case in Kot Lakhpat Jail on Saturday. Zainab was kidnapped on January 4 and her body was found from a heap of garbage on January 9. On February 12, charges were framed against the accused. The verdict was reserved on February 15. The accused had confessed to raping and murdering nine girls. The incident had triggered violent protests in the city. Two people were killed when the police opened fire on a mob trying to enter the DC Office. On January 15, the DG Forensic revealed that the same accused had raped and killed all the girls. The accused Imran Ali was arrested from Pakpattan on January 23. On January 26, the JIT started the investigations. The hearing into the case was held daily in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
