ATC grants two-day physical remand of Faisal Raza Abidi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The anti terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad granted two day physical remand of former Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) senator Faisal Raza Abidi to police on Thursday. Anti Terrorism Court I Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi heard the case filed a day earlier by the secretariat police. The court ordered to present the investigation report in the next hearing. The ATC granted Abidi’s physical remand in the case that according to the First Information Report (FIR), a copy of, includes Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA). On the other hand, Islamabad High Court (IHC) also has rejected Faisal Raza Abidi’s plea to dismiss the contempt of court case registered against him. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked that the attitude to give threats and anti judiciary remarks cannot be accepted. A day earlier, police had arrested Pakistan People s Party (PPP) leader and former Senator Faisal Raza Abidi from Supreme Court premises after his appearance in a contempt of court case on Wednesday.
