ATC to take up cases against Imran Khan today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The anti-terrorism court (ATC) will today (Monday) resumed hearing of Parliament and PTV attack case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. The ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand will resume hearing of the cases. The PTI chairman is expected to appear before the court for the fourth time today. In the previous hearing, Babar Awan, the counsel of PTI had challenged the jurisdiction of ATC to hear the four cases filed against Imran Khan and argued to drop terrorism charges against Imran Khan. The ATC had also extended the interim bail of PTI chairman Imran Khan till December 11, 2017. After hearing the counsel representing Imran Khan, the Judge Shahrukh Arjumand extended the interim bail till December 11, 2017 (today). Imran Khan was also present in the court as the case has been registered against him by Secretariat Police in 2014 when he was heading an anti-government sit-in outside Parliament House. In August 2014, when PTI and PAT supporters tried to storm the Prime Minister’s house using cranes to remove barricades, violence broke out. Violence between the police and protesters led to 3 dead and 560 injured. 77 of the injured individuals had been security officials deployed in the Red Zone.
