Attack on Karachi police office was planned, Additional IG was target: DIG South

KARACHI (92 News) - DIG South Irfan Baloch has said that the attack on the Karachi police office was planned and the additional IG was the target.

Talking to the media on Saturday, DIG South Irfan Baloch said that the terrorists spied on the office for a month. "The terrorists had already come to the office and they knew that office of additional IG was on the fourth floor," he disclosed.

CTD In-charge Raja Umar Khattab said that the terrorists had been identified. "Terrorists belong to the banned outfit TTP. Facilitators are being indentified," he added.

He said that mobile phones and weapons recovered from terrorists had been sent for forensic. "Screen of the mobile phone has been broken and the Kalashnikov number has been removed," he disclosed.

Karachi Additional IG Javed Alam Odho and other officers reached the office and restored the routine matters. The bomb disposal squad and investigation agencies collected the proofs.

According to sources, terrorists had entered the office by scaling the rear wall of the police office. The police officers present on the office roof can be seen fighting against the attackers.
