ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The judicial commission established to hold investigations into the alleged audio leaks stopped and postponed the proceedings after the verdict of the Supreme Court on Saturday.

During the meeting of the judicial commission, Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that the commission was established under the Inquiry Act.

"We were assigned the responsibility under the law. The court should have at least listened to the stance after issuing the notice. The SC verdicts are applied to everyone. Do they not apply to the SC itself," he observed.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that they all are not servants of anyone except Allah Almighty.

"We have to follow the law, not the constitutional tradition. What is Twitter? It should be known who is releasing the audios. Whether they are real or not. All these things will be known after investigations," he observed.

On Friday, a five-member larger bench comprising of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ejazul Ahsan, Justice Akhtar Muneeb, Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi had stopped the judicial commission from doing work and suspended the notification of its establishment.

Earlier, the federal government formed a three-member judicial commission for investigations into the alleged audio leaks. Justice Qazi Faez Isa was head of the commission, while IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Balochistan Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar were its members.
