Authorities recover liquor from Lahore's Cafe Aylanto, seal it for serving to customers

LAHORE – The city district administration and the Excise officials raided Cafe Aylanto, a popular restaurant on M M Alam Road in Gulberg III, on Saturday to recover a quantity of liquor and seal it for serving to the customers. A number of bottles of alcohol were recovered from the premises. The restaurant was charged with illegally serving alcohol was sealed with immediate effect by the authorities. Assistant Commissioner Model Town Zeeshan Ranjha carried out the raid along with the Excise and Taxation Department officials. A large amount of alcohol was recovered from the premises. Officials took 13 people including staff members into custody after the raid and shifted them to the unidentified location. A case was registered against the arrested suspects. The Excise officials will interrogate the arrested staff members of the cafe to determine how long the liquor was being served to the customers and how the owner got protection.
