ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif answered to 47 questions, out of total 128, and will respond to remaining questions on Tuesday. He remained in the rostrum for four hours and answered to the questions. Responding to the questions, he said that he had no connection with the Dubai Factory and Al-Azizia Mills. “I have never said that I have connection with Avenfield Property. I did not own the bearer shares of Nelson and Nescol company and they had never been with me,” he said. Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar were also present in court. In response to the first question, Nawaz Sharif read out the details of his public offices and said that the MLEs written by the JIT have not been presented in court. “Hence the verdict should not be pronounced on their basis,” he said. The former prime minister said that the JIT was formed on the order of the Supreme Court, while the constitution gives him the right of fair trial under Article 10. “The SC verdict affected my right of the fair trial. I have objection to the JIT members and I recorded it earlier,” he said. Reiterating his objection to the JIT second member Amir Aziz, he said that the officer was an investigation officer in the references against his family in 2000. “The case pertaining to the appointment of Irfan Mangi is still in court. The partiality of JIT head Wajid Zia is also visible and he got investigations done through his cousin,” he said. Nawaz Sharif said that so-called report of the JIT in Volume 10 is irrelevant, which is unacceptable evidence. “The affidavit of Tariq Shafi shows that Gulf Steels was constructed through the borrowed money. No MLA about the sale of 25 share of Gulf Steels has not been presented in court. Tariq Shafi and Shehbaz Sharif have not denied the signing of the agreement in my presence,” he said.
