Avenfield verdict against Sharif family to be challenged tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) will file petition tomorrow in Islamabad High Court (IHC) to challenge the verdict of the accountability court against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar in Avenfield reference. According to the reports, the PML-N has prepared the petition to challenge the accountability court verdict that was announced on July 6. The PML-N has to challenge the verdict today but it was delayed till tomorrow. It is expected that the petition will be filed tomorrow (on Tuesday). Earlier today, NAB court sent Captain (r) Safdar to Adiala Jail amid tight security. Safdar’s name was also placed on the black list, which means he would be barred from leaving the country. On Friday, Accountability Court-I judge Muhammad Bashir awarded the 11-year rigorous imprisonment to Nawaz with £8 million fine, while his daughter Maryam Nawaz was awarded eight-year imprisonment with £2 million fine.
