Aviation Adviser Mehtab Abbasi terms PIA a Titanic

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Adviser to the PM on Aviation Mehtab Abbasi has termed the PIA, the national flag carrier, a Titanic. Talking to the media on Tuesday, he said that the national airline has suffered an Rs 400 billion loss. “It suffered a loss of Rs 40 billion last year,” he added. The adviser was of the view that the Open Sky Policy had caused the greatest loss. “The PIA has no planes capable of a long journey. So it is closing flights for the US,” he added. He said that the government wants to rectify all out of order planes. Mehtab Abbasi said that 22 planes were being upgraded.
