Military awards conferred on Army officers and soldiers

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The investiture ceremony of Rawalpindi and Mangla Corps was held at Army Auditorium, General Headquarters on Tuesday.

Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was the chief guest on the occasion.

Awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on Army officers and soldiers. 25 martyred soldiers were awarded Tamgha-i-Basalat. Next of kins of the martyrs received their awards posthumously.

Sixty-seven officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 122 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation. A large number of senior Army officers and families of awardees attended the ceremony.

Meanwhile, the investiture ceremony of Multan, Lahore, Gujranwala and Bahawalpur Corps was held at Lahore.

Commander Lahore Corps Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz was the chief guest on the occasion.

Awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on Army officers and soldiers. 20 martyred soldiers were awarded Tamgha-i-Basalat. Next of kins of the martyrs received their awards posthumously. Twenty-four officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 34 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation.

The investiture ceremony of Peshawar Corps was held at the Corps Headquarters Peshawar to confer military awards upon Next of kins of the martyrs and serving military officers for act of gallantry during various operations.

Commander Peshawar Corps Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood, who was the chief guest, conferred 26 Tamgha-e-Basalat, one Sitar-a-e-Imtiaz (Military), and 14 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) to the next of kins of the martyrs and officers.

The ceremony was attended by NOKs of martyrs, senior serving officers of Pakistan Army, and families.
