Ayesha harassment case: 40 accused sent to jail for identification parade

LAHORE (92 News) – A local court sent 40 accused to jail for 14 days for the identification parade on Saturday.

Earlier, the police produced the accused in court amid tight security. Shehroz, one of the accused, was granted interim bail till September 3.

The police also got the medical examination conducted of Ayesha and her colleague Rembo.

On the other hand, the police arrested 36 more people who were seen in the video. As a result, the number of the arrested accused has risen to 66.

Meanwhile, civil society staged a protest against the incident at Greater Iqbal Park. They demanded stringent action against the protesters.

Chief Secretary Jawaad Rafique Malik has a notification to remove DIG Operations Sajjad Kiyani and directed him to report to S&GDA. SSP Admin Waqar Shoaib has been appointed as SSP Operations. Rizwan Tariq has been appointed as SP City, while Atif Miraj as Badami Bagh DSP.
