Ayub Afridi's resignation paves way for Shaukat Tarin to become senator
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani accepted the resignation of Senator Ayub Afridi, paving the way for Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin to become a senator.
Meanwhile, Ayub Afridi has been appointed as Adviser to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis.
Ayub Afridi said, “I presented my resignation to the prime minister. Due to joint session, I was asked to wait. My seat was entrusted to me by the prime minister and I have returned it happily."
He added that now it was a prerogative of the prime minister to entrust it to the person of his choice. "I will have no objection, if the prime minister does not assign me any responsibility. However, I will continue to serve the nation.”
