ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati has tendered a written apology to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over allegations levelled by him.

In a written reply, the minister said that he seeks an apology if the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was hurt by his words.

In the apology, Azam Swati said that he had never tried to scandalize the ECP.

ECP Sindh Member Nisar Durrani rejected the federal minister's plea for exemption from appearance, saying the minister is ignoring the ECP. He said that all institutions should respect each other.

Durrani said that they would issue an appropriate order over the apology tendered by Fawad Chaudhary, reserving the verdict.

A two-member commission of the ECP heard the notice against Azam Swati. The hearing was adjourned until December 22.
