LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab Information Department continues to give ads to Bahawalpur’s Daily Siadat illegally and son of the deceased owner continued to cash the cheques even after 18 years of his father’s death. Meanwhile, the chief secretary did not cancel newspaper’s declaration even after knowing the matter. The Punjab Information Department officials continued to issue ads in the name of Gulzar Ahmed Naseem, owner of Siadat, and received their ‘share’. The matter was brought to the notice of the Punjab chief secretary who ordered an inquiry into the matter. To save their skin, corrupt officers issued the declaration in the name of Humayun Gulzar in violation of the law instead of cancelling it, thus deceiving the chief secretary as well. The Bahawalpur DCO has sought explanation from the Punjab Information Department regarding issuance of the declaration.
