PAKPATTAN (92 News) – Bahishti Darwaza was opened at the shrine of Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar on Wednesday. The 778th Urs of 12th Century Sufi saint of the Chishti Order (Silsila-e-Chishtia) Hazrat Baba Farid Gunj Shakar (RA) in Pakpattan reached its zenith with the opening of the Bahishti Darwaaza amid celebrations. The opening of Bahishti Darwaza is part of the 15-day Urs celebrations of the Sufi saint. Bahishti Darwaza will be closed on the 10th Muharramul Haram. The devotees from across the country had started arriving in the city since 25th Zilhaj, and will be staying here till the afternoon of the 10th of Muharram. It is believed that over half a million people will go through the Darwaaza, which is opened for five days in a year only during 15-day Urs celebrations. People from across the country thronged the shrine to pay tribute to the great Sufi and Punjabi poet.
