Baldia factory tragedy: MQM's Hammad Siddiqui handed over to Pakistan

KARACHI (92 News) – The authorities in United Arab Emirates (UAE) have on Friday handed over Hammad Siddiqui, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-London) leader and main accused in Baldia factory fire tragedy. Hammad Siddiqui was arrested few months ago with the help of Interpol. He has been handed over to Pakistani officials after completing legal formalities and will be brought back to Pakistan soon. Siddiqui is the prime suspect in Baldia Town Factory fire incident which left more than 250 people dead and dozens others injured. Former MQM Sector Incharge Rizwan Qureshi has revealed that the factory was set alight on the orders of party leader Hammad Siddiqui. Other accused in the case including Zubair alias Chiria was arrested upon his return at the Karachi airport, while Abdul Rehman alias Bhola was detained form Bagkok. More than 250 people were killed when a factor was set alight in September 2012 in Karachi. The government formed a JIT to thoroughly investigate the incident, which had later made startling revelations.
