Ballot secrecy violation: ECP accepts Imran Khan's apology

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday accepted apology tendered by Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for violation of vote secrecy during General Election 2018. As per details, the electoral body also decided to issue Khan's victory notification from National Assembly constituency NA-53. The ECP also withdrew the notice which was issued to Imran khan. The decision was taken on behalf of three and one proportion, in which, three member of bench accepted and one of them rejected. The chief election commissioner refused to accept the apology. Imran Khan's lawyer Babar Awan submitted the written apology self-signed by Imran Khan with affidavit. Earlier on Thursday, the ECP demanded a signed apology from the Imran Khan for violating the electoral code of conduct while casting his vote during the general elections.
