KARACHI (92 News) – Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq has said that the people are disappointed after a cut in the budget of the provinces by the federal government. Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that the government had not consulted the opposition and the traders. “The government also consulted the IMF regarding the budget. The IMF directed the government to impose the budgets of Rs800 billion,” he added. Sirajul Haq said that the government had decided to sack the Steel Mills employees, but the Jamaat-e-Islami would definitely resist it at all levels. “The JI rejects the budget. Where was the amount of Rs1,200 billion of the Corona Fund spent?” he added. He asked the government to review the budget. “On the orders of the IMF, the government reduced the value of the rupee by 40 percent. It also increased the prices of daily-use items. The government had destroyed the economy before the coronavirus,” he added. The JI ameer asked the government to compensate for the mistakes committed in the budget. “Nothing has been done for education and health. 50 million acres of land is under the locust attacks presently,” he said.
