Balochistan University’s VC sacked over video scandal

QUETTA (92 News) – Prof Dr Javed Iqbal, the vice-chancellor of University of Balochistan, sacked from his post over the alleged video scandal of black mailing and harassing. According to a notification issued by Balochistan Governor’s Secretariat, Prof Dr Javed Iqbal had stepped down to let FIA completes its inquiry into recent cases of harassment in the Balochistan University. “On request of the Vice-Chancellor, Balochistan University, that to let the FIA conduct a fair inquiry into the recent cases of harassment in the university; the Hon’ble Governor Balochistan/Chancellor UoB has accepted stepping down from his responsibilities as VC, UoB till finalisation of the inquiry report of FIA,” read a notification. The notification further reads that Professor Dr Mohammad Anwer Panezai has been given “lookafter charge of the Vice-Chancellor” till further orders. Earlier on October 14, Balochistan University’s biggest scandal as blackmailing and harassment of students exposed and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) initiate the probe. According to the details garnered, hidden cameras were installed in the different blocks of university. The FIA arrested university security branch officer and a surveillance charge officer and started investigations. During the investigation, the FIA recovered immoral videos and many other students approached after launching probe against blackmailing and harassing case. According to the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the hidden cameras were installed in the university blocks for blackmailing students.
