Banned TLP ends sit-in after presenting resolution against France in NA
ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Tuesday evening ended countrywide protest and Lahore sit-in after presenting resolution on expulsion of France ambassador in National Assembly by the federal government.
According to the sources, the government will release the arrested workers and leaders of the outlawed TLP.
The banned TLP Majlis-e-Shura (advisory council) member announced ending the sit-in and asked the protesters to disperse peacefully.
Haji Ameer Hussain Rizvi, elder brother of Khadim Rizvi and provincial minister Hafiz Ammar Yasir and played a key role in the success of the talks. A delegation of scholars including Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Sarwat Ijaz Qadri also played an important role in mediation.
Hamid Raza plays role as facilitator between govt and TLP
Sunni Ittehad Council Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza has said that he mediated between the government’s committee and the banned TLP for dialogue and reaching to an agreement.
The government and the proscribed TLP have agreed to bring a resolution in the National Assembly, Hamid Raza said.
“The two sides agreed for release of all those arrested under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) 16,” the chairman added.
Govt-Banned TLP Talks Succeed
Earlier, the talks between the government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TLP) succeeded after the three rounds on Monday night.
Punjab Minister Hafiz Ammar Yasir and Haji Ameer Hussain played a key role in the successful talks. Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Sahibzada Mian Jalil Ahmed Sharqpuri, Pir Abdul Khaliq, Sahibzada Abu Al-Khair Muhammad Zubair and Sunni Tehreek chief Sarwat Qadri and a nine-member delegation of Ulema played a role in the success of the talks.
In a video message, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that the resolution seeking expulsion of the French ambassador would be presented in the National Assembly today.
He said that the matters were settled between the government and the TLP had been settled. "The TLP will end the sit-in and the process of talks will be taken forward. Cases against the TLP members and leaders will be quashed and their names would be removed from the Fourth Schedule," he added.
