January 19, 2017
LONDON (92 News) – The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on Thursday denied the news of Pakistan’s official news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that BBC has initiated internal investigation against its reporter regarding the London flats report issued on January 13. “We stand by our journalism and are satisfied that this story meets our editorial standards including accuracy and impartiality. There is no internal investigation into this BBC reporter (Athar Kazmi) nor this news story (When were Park Lane flats purchased, or sold?)” BBC said in a series of tweets. Athar Kazmi had in his BBC report stated that the London flats were bought in 1990s and the ownership of these flats have not been changed so far. The details regarding the purchase and sale of the flats were also included in the report. The APP on Wednesday published a story claiming that BBC is investigating against its reporter and his story. The APP’s story was highlighted by the private media houses of the country as well.
