Belt and Road Initiative effective instrument of globalization: FM

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said the Belt and Road Initiative  of China has emerged as the single most effective instrument of globalization and international development cooperation. Addressing a conference on Belt and Road Initiative on Wednesday, the minister said Pakistan-China friendship is an example for the world and both the countries are promoting mutual partnership. FM Qureshi said realignments are taking place in the region, adding, “We seek inputs from academia and the private sector to prepare our policies that suits the interests of the country.”
Hindutva approach permeating in India
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan is committed to the implementation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He said Hindutva approach is permeating in India. He said Pakistan's gesture of opening the Kartarpur Corridor was responded by India with the judgment on Babri Mosque. However, he maintained that Pakistan will fully facilitate the Sikh Yatrees to visit their sacred places. Earlier, FM Qureshi has said that Pakistan said that Pakistan would be rightful in giving a befitting response if any attempt is made to divert the water flow. “The world must open their eyes in wake of provocative statements from India to deprive Pakistan of its share of water under IWT,” he said. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that harsh stance of the Modi regime and its hate driven policies are a clear threat to the peace in South Asia. He said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an election rally in Haryana, had threatened to stop water flowing to Pakistan. “Modi’s speech is violation of the Indus Water Treaty,” he said.
