Massive package will be announced for construction industry today: PM

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that a massive package will be announced for the construction industry on today. Addressing a ceremony in connection with distribution of Rs100 billion refunds among the businessmen on Thursday, he said that they had decided to open up the construction industry and give it the necessary incentives to provide job opportunities to the people. “There is coronavirus on our one side and hunger on the other side.” The prime minister said that the government had little limited resources and it was difficult to pass them on to the people. “The nation will have to take care of the poor segment of the society,” he said. He said that the government’s top priority is to promote the industry and the country cannot make progress without the business community. “The poor community faces the greatest threat from the coronavirus. We are taking steps to the save the labourers from unemployment,” he added. He expressed satisfaction that trajectory of coronavirus in Pakistan is not like that has been witnessed in other countries. “I am confident that Pakistan will be able to overcome this problem. People should avoid going to gatherings and adopt precautionary measures to contain the pandemic,” he added. The prime minister said that the Commerce Ministry and industries are in constant touch with the business community as to how together they can overcome the challenge posed by coronavirus.
