October 17, 2016
KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has on Sunday said that Karbala teaches us differences between truth and falsehood and Karbala is the name of standing against violence. Addressing the ‘Salam Shuhada’ rally at Karsaz on Sunday, he said that he would announce a long march on December 27, if the government did not accept their demands. Mentioning the demands as assign a foreign minister, Panama Bill presented by PPP should be passed, the suggestions of former president Asif Ali Zardari on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) should be accepted and parliamentary national security committee should be established. The PPP leader chairman said that he is the heir of all those who martyred on October 18 and November 27, adding that he is the heir of all those who sacrificed their lives for democracy. Addressing the rally participants in Lyari, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Lyari is the heart of Karachi, in fact Lyari is the real Karachi, adding that Lyari is the second home of his mother and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and slain former prime minister and his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He said that his parents were married in Lyari and he was also born in Lyari, adding that he is also a son of Lyari. Bilawal said: “Lyari’s peace was destroyed with planning and Lyari has always struggled against dictatorship.” Strict security arrangements have been made for the rally Criticizing Imran Khan, Bilawal said that the contract of attacking the 'lion' (PML-N) was given to only one player. "The daughter of the nation had returned to Pakistan on Oct 1, 2007. She had chosen Karachi for her arrival. Karachi is the heart beat of Pakistan, Karachi is the city of Quaid. Benazir Bhutto returned as a hope for the country. She had brought a hope of freedom from terrorism, poverty, corruption and dictatorship. Her democratic caravan was attacked on Oct 18. It stands as the biggest event in the history of Pakistan. The attack on Benazir’s convoy was an attack on the hopes of people. The participants of the Oct 18 rally at Karsaz set a great example of bravery. My Pakistani patriots instead of running at the time of bomb blast, saved their hero," Bilawal said. "Those who martyred Benazir Bhutto were fooled that nobody would challenge them again. BB’s son is alive today. BB’s workers are alive today," he added. He further said the PPP had put Pakistan on track of growth through projects like CPEC and Iran gas pipeline, and added, "We raised slogans of ‘Jamhooriyat behtareen intaqam’ (Democracy is the best revenge) and 'Pakistan Khappey' (Long live Pakistan) but we became a victim of conspiracies." Addressing Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, he said, “You are leading the country towards destruction. This childish opposition has strengthened the government. He said, "The people should not be disappointed; the arrow has left the bow. BB’s son has entered the ground. I am bringing a change in the party. If the people are with us, we will bring a change in the country as well." It should be noted that a welcome parade on the return of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan was attacked by terrorists with twin bombing near Karsaz in Karachi on 18th October 2007, killing 180 people and injuring more than five hundred. Bhutto survived the terrorist attack but assassinated in gun and bombing attack in Rawalpindi on December 27 same year after addressing an election rally of the party.
