KARACHI (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has announced to stage a countrywide protest against inflation on December 10 and 17.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that the next strategy would be announced in Garhi Khuda Bux on December 27.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the masses are facing hardships due to the deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). "The Sindh government is handing over the property tax and police to the local bodies," he added.

He said that those doing politics on the lingual basis would come to know in the local bodies elections.

“Sindh is the only province in which the local government has completed its term for the first time, and now under the new local government system, the education, health and all other institutions will be accountable to the local bodies,” stated the PPP chairman.

Bilawal Bhutto said that amendments and improvements are yet to be added to the Local Government (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and that PPP does not believe in passing laws without consensus.

“The opposition has probably not read this law even once. If they had read it, they would have known that if the new local government system is compared with the local government system of 2015, it will be clear that the powers have been increased,” he concluded.
