Bilawal Bhutto announces sit-in against price-hike in Sukkur today
SUKKUR (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced to stage a sit-in against price-hike in Sukkur on Thursday (today).
Addressing a convention on Wednesday, he said that they would also take out a rally up to the Punjab border.
“Some people think that the PPP has vanished, but the party has just started,” he said.
The PPP chairman said that the people’s economic murder was being done. “The promise of providing 10 million jobs also turned out to be a lie. Economic rights could not be safeguarded unless democratic and constitutional rights are saved,” he said.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the rigging-marred government has not only destroyed the economy but also passed the anti-people budget which made the life of a common man a hell.
He said that the constitution for which Zulfikar Ali Bhutto sacrificed his life is being attacked from all sides. “We will not let anyone to harm the constitution no matter they jail me and my family,” he declared.
The PPP chairman said that all should jointly struggle for human, democratic and economic rights.
NA speaker has no power to ban meetings of standing committees: Bilawal
On July 9, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar has no power to ban the meetings of the standing committees.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that the speaker could not impose the ban under the law.
“The speaker should immediately withdraw the decision to ban the meetings of the standing committees,” he demanded.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the National Assembly was incomplete without the standing committees and the government had done undemocratic task by banning their meetings. “We cannot tolerate this illegal act.”
The PPP chairman was of the view that the parliament is being attacked from inside the parliament. “We will fight at each front to save the system,” he maintained.
He termed the speaker’s orders an attack on the parliament. “People are being stopped from carrying out development projects in the name of austerity,” he added.
