Bilawal Bhutto demands immediate release of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has demanded immediate release of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who was arrested by the NAB in the LNG scandal on Thursday. Talking to the media, he said that the selected government is arresting its political rivals to conceal its failures. “The arrest of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a sequel to revengeful activities against elected representatives,” he said. He said that the opposition will not stop its protest against the attacks on the economy. “Shahid Khaqan Abbasi should be released immediately,” he said. PPP leader Syed Khurshid Ali Shah said that how justice will be done if the government had prior knowledge about the people to be arrested. He appealed to the Supreme Court to take notice of the arrest of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He said that the opposition parties could have closed the roads had they used the traders’ strike. Khurshid Shah said that the government had purchased LNG at higher rates from Qatar as compared to the prices of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman alleged that the NAB was used against the opposition.
