Bilawal Bhutto terms sacking finance minister a victory of PDM

KARACHI (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has termed sacking of Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as victory of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

In a tweet on Monday, he said: "The PTIMF minister needed to be elected to continue in post and Senate defeat made that impossible. Now government admits inflation is skyrocketing because of its failed policies. Parliamentary opposition proven most effective against this regime."

Earlier, the government has decided to remove Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as finance minister.

Sources said that Hammad Azhar would be assigned the portfolio of the finance minister. They said that the prime minister was very worried about the increasing inflation as Abdul Hafeez Shaikh failed in controlling it.

Abdul Hafeez Shaikh also heads the price control committee.
