Blackout in major cities after power breakdown

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A major power breakdown on Monday left different parts of the country without electricity, with authorities citing technical fault as a reason behind blackout that occurred for the first time in year 2017. Different parts of the country including several cities of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan affected by power outage due to a technical fault at the Guddu Power Station. As many as five generation units of the Guddu Power company tripped due to higher loads than the available generation capacity due to which the electricity was suspended in different areas of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
