Blasphemcy case: Ch Nisar warns of serious action against social media

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has warned to take serious steps if acts of disrespecting the sacred personalities is not stopped on social media websites.

 

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Nisar said that he is aware of the importance of freedom of expression but social media is not above religion and faith.

 

The interior minister said that he would raise the issue of blasphemy in OIC and announced to call a meeting of ambassadors of Muslim nations on Friday regarding the issue.

 

He said that threats should not be given for taking action against social media, and added that the action should be awaited.

 

Regarding the spot fixing scandal, Nisar said that it damaged the country’s image. The investigations would be completed at every cost.

 

He also stressed to eliminate the Bookies.

 

He further said that the Pakistan Cricket Board and Federal Investigation Agency are not against each other. Such an impression should not be delivered.
