Blasphemy case: IHC orders putting names of those involved in ECL
March 8, 2017
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered to put the names of those involved in posting blasphemous content on social media in the Exit Control List (ECL).   Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar did not appear before the court despite being summoned.   Interior Secretary Arif Khan stated that it was sad to see the blasphemous content. Being a Muslim, no one can tolerate such content.   IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui asked the interior secretary if any action would be taken against it. The court remarked that the matter is quite sensitive and should be solved at the earliest. Every person should be treated under the law.   Justice Siddiqui again turned into tears, saying that his heart is bleeding with tears. He said that even a Muslim of the lowest category cannot tolerate disrespect of Prophet (PBUH). The secular extremism is much greater than religious extremism.   He said that external forces are working against Pakistan. When state does not fulfil its duty, the people take the decisions in their hands.   He said that the court will hold the proceedings of the case on regular basis.   The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority chairman told the court that the authority has started banning such pages on Facebook.   Directing the interior secretary to include the names of those involved in the ECL, the court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
