Bloodshed being attempted in Pakistan in the name of religion: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that bloodshed is being attempted in Pakistan in the name of religion.

Addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday, he said that the CJP had been targeted for the last few years. “The CJP Is not related to such decision or statement. The Supreme Court has already clarified its stance over the issue,” he added.

The minister said that some people’s political interests are attached to the issue and for this reason, the propaganda on the basis of lie was going on.

“The state will take action against this propaganda going on the social media. The state will disintegrate if it is given a free hand,” he added.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the statement about the chief justice is rebellion against the constitution. “No group can be allowed to issue fatwas of ‘Kufr’. The power of punishment and reward lies with the judiciary,” he maintained.
