QUETTA (92 News) – Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal has decided to retain his National Assembly (NA) seat and will vacate his provincial seat. Akhtar Mengal took the decision after a deal with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on federal government formation. However, Mengal will retain his NA-269 seat and is due to take oath alongside other elected lawmakers in parliament on Monday. The BNP will support the PTI in prime minister and NA speaker seats but the party leaders would sit on the independent benches in the NA. Moreover, the party has decided to utilise seats for independent candidates till the six-point agreement with PTI materialises. Earlier on Wednesday, the senior leaders of the PTI met BNP leadership in Quetta to formalise the deal on Wednesday. Mengal said his party do not desire a top slot in the government.
