Funeral prayers of Pakistani tortured to death in India’s jail offered

KARACHI (92 News) – The funeral prayer of a Pakistani fisherman – who was tortured to death in an Indian jail has been offered in Karachi on Friday. According to details, the funeral prayer of Pakistani fisherman, Noorul Amin, who was brutally tortured and killed in an Indian jail, offered in Akbar Shah Football Ground as the social, political and other personalities from different walks of life also attended the funeral prayer. Social welfare representative Ansar Burni, talking to media, said that it was government’s duty to arrange the funeral prayer of fisherman and he demanded that government to the family of Noorul Amin should be looked after by the government. Later, Noorul Amin laid to rest in Ibrahim Haideri graveyard. Noorul Amin, who was over 80 years old and hailed from So-Quarters Korangi, was arrested on September 30, 2017, when his boat entered Indian waters by mistake. Amin has left behind his wife and three children. Earlier, martyred Shakirullah, who was stoned to death in Jaipur jail, was laid to rest at his native village Jaiser Wala in Sialkot. In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said findings of the inquiry and postmortem report may be shared urgently and to ensure safety of all Pakistanis, especially Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails, to prevent recurrence of such tragic and reprehensible incidents. After the killing of Pakistani prisoner by inmates in Jaipur Jail, the Pakistan government had condemned the incident and asked India to immediately provide the details of inquiry of the murder and postmortem report, which have not been provided so far.
