Buzdar rejects demand for establishing judicial commission immediately

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzddar has rejected the demand for establishing the judicial commission on the Sahiwal incident immediately. Talking to the media after one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday, he said that there is no need to form the judicial commission immediately on the judicial commission. He claimed that the investigations into the tragedy are underway in a transparent way. “I will get a briefing on the issue again in two days,” he said. The Punjab chief minister said that they had taken action against five officials, while action is being taken against each responsible person. “The government will give Rs 20 million to the bereaved families as compensation,” he said. On the other hand, Jalil, brother of the victim Khalil, has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking a judicial commission comprising of LHC judges for transparent investigations into the matter. He alleged that the Punjab IGP is trying to protect high-ranking police and CTD officers.
