LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the base for transparent Pakistan has been created under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. This is first time that corruption kings in Pakistan have been brought to the court of law and that the era of plundering national wealth is now over in 'Nia' New Pakistan, he said in a statement. Buzdar further said Pakistan had witnessed record corruption in the era of previous rulers, adding corrupt elements looted the country's resources mercilessly. "The personal bank balances of past rulers are multiplying day by day." Pakistan which was stuck in the swamp of corruption is now changing fast in the tenure of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Firdous' reaction to Maryam's appearance in court
On the other hand, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said: "The people either punished by courts or on bails join the court hearings the way they have won the world cup." Reacting to Maryam Nawaz's appearance in an accountability court in Rawalpindi, Firdous said the NAB laws are equally applicable to all. In a statement, the special assistant said the law is making its own way as those who only focused on increasing assets after coming into power are being made accountable now. "It’s alarming if ministers of defence and foreign affairs carry Iqama." Dr Firdous maintained the government believes in supremacy of law and constitution, saying former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's arrest has been made as per legal process. NAB apprehended Abbasi on the basis of immense evidence in the LNG corruption case, she added.
