By-elections to be held on Oct 14 across Pakistan: ECP

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – By-elections on vacant seats of the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies will be held across Pakistan on October 14. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today issued schedule for by-elections of 37 constituencies of national and provincial assemblies. The by-election will be held on October 14 and the nomination papers can be filed from 28th to 30th September. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted by October 4. The appeals can be filed about the decisions of the returning officers till September 8. While the appellate tribunal will announce the verdict over all the appeals on September 13. The reviewed list of the candidates will be issued on September 14 whereas the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by 15th and election symbols will be allotted to candidates on 16th of the next month. As per details of the ECP, by-election will be conducted in 11 constituencies of National Assembly and 26 constituencies of provincial assemblies.
