CAA constitutes medical board to examine fourteen pilots

KARACHI (92 News) – The medical board of Civil Aviation Authority has on Sunday summoned the 14 pilots, who had submitted medical certificate just before the flights, at the Karachi’s Aero Medical Centre. The Civil Aviation Authority has also constituted a medical board to examine fourteen pilots who submitted sick leave two hours before their flights. Chief Civil Aviation Medicine in Karachi’s Aero Medical Centre Dr Faheemud Din Khan will take medical examination, while the Civil Aviation authority will take departmental level action if the medical certificates proved fake. The PIA officials said that several pilots have sent their medical certificates just two hours before their flights due to which they had to cancel the flights. The row started after the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority suspended the licenses of two pilots for one and two years respectively for “unlawfully operating flight without permission.” Tiff between PIA and PALPA has entered fourth day and has led to the cancellation of at least 62 scheduled flights causing immense problems for the passengers.
