Cabinet approves licence of prohibited bore arms for President Arif Alvi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Federal Cabinet on Tuesday approved a licence of a prohibited bore arms for President Arif Alvi. The forum approved several agenda items, including multi-storey buildings. It paid tribute to Prime Minister Imran Khan for successful foreign policy, refusing an increase in the electricity rates and a relief package. It also approved the bill on protection of journalists. The cabinet also discussed the matters pertaining to Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ahsan Iqbal. On the other hand, ministers belonging to allied parties, including Khalid Siddiqui and Tariq Cheema, did not participate in the cabinet meeting. Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the present government was burdened with the wrong decisions of the previous government. “We implemented the agreements of the past governments under compulsion. The government has allowed Nawaz Sharif to go abroad,” she said. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the prime minister had directed that people should not be suffered due to gaps in generation and supply of electricity. “Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Energy to devise a comprehensive mechanism so that increase in prices due to Neelum Jhelum Surcharge or Circular Debt is not passed on to ordinary people.  A meeting in this regard will be convened soon.” She said that the prime minister had also directed to take all-out preventive measures against spread of coronavirus in the country. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the cabinet had also discussed the visit of US President Trump to neighboring India. It was informed that defeat of Indian narrative during this visit is a victory for Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy presented a detailed plan to the federal cabinet on supply of power, prices of electricity for domestic and commercial consumers and short-term and long-term goals for bringing these prices down. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Dr Sania Nishtar gave a detailed briefing to cabinet on Ehsaas Kifalat Program, Langar Khanas and other initiatives which are the vision of the PTI government.
