ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The federal cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday approved to send the declaration to the Supreme Court under the prohibited funding verdict.

It is the first step towards banning the PTI. The cabinet directed the FIA and the Interior Ministry to probe the matter.

Addressing a press conference after the federal cabinet meeting, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the ECP verdict had proved the PTI a foreign-funded party. "The affidavits submitted by Imran Khan five times have been declared fake," she added.

The minister said that 16 accounts of the PTI had been kept secret. "The 16 secret accounts were opened in the names Imran Khan and senior leadership. The Zakat money was used for political objective. Imran Khan knew about all matters," she maintained.

She said that the Law Ministry will present the declaration to the cabinet within three days. "The government is bound to implement the ECP verdict," she added.
