Cabinet recommended probe into £190 million scam, but PTI founder approved it: Zubaida Jalal

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Former federal minister Zubaida Jalal, in a statement given to the NAB team, disclosed that the cabinet had recommended a probe into the £190 million scam, but the PTI founder approved it without any discussion.

According to a NAB report, she said that the cabinet was of the view that the amount of £190 million was an asset of Pakistan and it should be brought back. "Despite my insistence, then prime minister did not listen to anyone. It is was approved despite reservations of the cabinet members," she disclosed in the statement.

Zubaida Jalal said that the agenda of the serious matter was approved without any discussion besides approving that minutes should be kept secret.

On the other hand, a list of all witnesses against the former prime minister had also surfaced. According to the list, no former minister belonging to the MQM agreed to become the witness.

However, three members of the PTI cabinet became the witnesses. The reference witnesses include Pervaiz Khattak, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Zubaida Jalal. Former principal secretary Azam Khan is also among the witnesses and he is not an approver.
